Last week saw the opening of Chasing Rainbows, a collaborative exhibition between myself and Richard Stride. The exhibition was shown as a part of Current Projects' Pear Shaped: One Night Editions. It was great to start 2013 off with some art, especially a collaborative work. I've collaborated quite a lot over the years and I'm always surprised at how differently the process manifests with different artists.
Richard and I originally planned to exhibit collaboratively in May last year. However I got a job in Western Australia so that put a halt to our plans. Then Richard's schedule became hectic so we further postponed our plans. 8 months later we finally had the time, space and inclination to do it! Posted here are some pictures from the night. I'm yet to get to my huge collection of documentation images, but I'll be sure to post them when I do.
As part of the exhibition we created a wall of photographs which captured little vignettes within the installation. We invited the audience to choose and take an image from the wall. It proved very popular and at the end of the night everyone was grasping a little original artwork. I enjoy utopian gestures like that. Making art ownership more egalitarian! Yes!
P.S. In case you are wondering, some people are wearing party hats because it was Current Projects' first birthday! Woo!

Congrats to you and Richard. It looks great!
